What is the Bay Runner Trolley?
The Bay Runner is an open-air trolley that provides complimentary service seven days a week, until midnight, with multiple stops along the way between Lido Key, St. Armands Circle, and downtown Sarasota. Continuous service is provided throughout the day:
- 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. – one trolley, 30 minute frequency
- 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. – two trolleys, 20-30 minute frequency depending on ridership and traffic conditions
- 8 p.m. – Midnight – one trolley, 30 minute frequency.
The Bay Runner allows visitors and residents alike the chance to conveniently combine the elegant beachside feel of St. Armands Circle with the more metropolitan sophistication of downtown Sarasota.

The Bay Runner is funded by the collective interest of the City of Sarasota Economic Development Fund, the State of Florida Department of Transportation, the Downtown Improvement District, and the St. Armands Business Improvement District.
The Bay Runner is a product of the City of Sarasota, managed by the Parking Management Division, and operated by CPR Medical Transportation.
